Recently, on the first Sunday of Lent, Mount Pleasant North Campus experienced what we called our Launch (Grand Opening).  It was a great day for us!  The result of our Launch Sunday hopefully will be an encouragement for all of us  all as we step out of our comfort zones.  When we first began partnering with the folks at our north campus, there were only about 70 in worship.   Launch Sunday's attendance was 165.  Our average there is around 120.  We now have a children's director (Kari Winters)  in place and soon will have a second staff person who will serve as secretary.

We only had two children present on our first Sunday together last July.  This past Sunday, 25 kids came forth for the children's message.  Instead of one senior adult class, we now have a class for K – 5^th and a class for 6^th and up.   Plus, there were 10 in our new young adults class.   Regarding the bank account, we are tithing 5% of our income to the Conference and we are keeping ahead of our bills.  Spiritual growth is occurring too.   We are in a parish wide Lenten study called Journey To Hope, featuring about 6 new small study groups at North.    The calendar at North is becoming more active.   Sunday worship services are uplifting,  inspirational, and joyful.  A praise team is faithfully there to lead us  in worship each week.  Pastor Rick Swan is there to bring us the Word of God.  Sometimes we swap so that I can be with my new parishioners as well.   We continue to pray as a parish each day at 1:30 p.m. wherever we are.  We have plenty of challenges both at the present and in the future, but the main thought we want to keep in mind is this:  Praise the Lord.

At the South Campus, we just finished up our Advocacy and Awareness Week!  Our focus was on orphans here and around the world.  We raised a little over $700 for our Orphan Ministry and sold over $1000 in fair trade goods!  Thanks to all those who came to events and activities!
