  • Celebrate Recovery meetings are similar to those of other twelve-step programs, one difference is in their focus on Christianity. The program stresses that there is no other Higher Power except for Jesus, as opposed to groups like Alcoholics Anonymous which encourage members to choose their own concept of a Higher Power Another difference is that Celebrate Recovery does not require one to conform to a singleness of purpose declaration, a member does not have to qualify oneself as an alcoholic, addict, or gambler—there are no requirements for membership. You may attend with a desire to work the steps for healing with any number of hurts, hang-ups or habits (compulsive behaviors).  To access the Celebrate Recovery site, please go to www.mountpleasantcr.org.

  • We at Mount Pleasant UMC are proud to support Mountain Top Ministries.  Mountain Top Ministries is a place where people can seek God and become an active contributor to God’s kingdom.  Mountain Top Ministries was founded, and continues to be led, by Willem and Beth Ellen Charles. Willem, a natural born citizen of Haiti, and Beth Ellen, a native of Indiana, are dedicated to seeing Mountain Top Ministries reach its goal to serve the people of Haiti and to spread God’s word.  Willem and Beth began their mission work in 1991. They assisted Americans through the process of short-term medical, construction, VBS, and evangelism teams in Haiti. They developed a discipleship class, pastors' conferences, annual crusade and led the discipleship class on personal evangelism trips. They also have successful experience in Bible studies, conferences and seminars for Haitian ministers, medical mission services, and missionary training. Willem is fluent in Creole, French and English and uses his gifts as a translator.  Go to www.mtmhaiti.com to learn more and to contribute directly to earthquake relief.
